FRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Stars have advanced to the 2024 Western Conference Final with a thrilling 2-1 double overtime victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night.
Dallas Stars defenseman Thomas Harley scored the game-winning goal at 11:24 of the second overtime period, sending the Stars to the next round.
The Dallas Stars outlasted the Colorado Avalanche in double overtime to advance to the Western Conference Final. The Stars won the series 4-2 and will face the Edmonton Oilers in the next round.
Midway through the third period, the Stars were headed on a man advantage with a 2-1 lead. However, the Avalanche were able to capitalize on a power play and tie the game with just over seven minutes remaining.
The Stars were able to regroup and force overtime, where they eventually prevailed.
The Dallas Stars pulled off an early holiday miracle. Trailing 2-1 against the Predators, the Stars scored two goals in the final three minutes of regulation to force overtime. Dallas eventually won the game in a shootout, 3-2.
The Stars are now one step closer to their first Stanley Cup since 1999.
